Training Booklet for the New Handler
Published in April 2009 this booklet is based on the Agricultural Trainig Board's 'Blue Book' which disapeared when the ATB became part of Lantra. It is available for purchase (£2.00) at all National Sheepdog Trials from the International Sheepdog Society.
Compiled and Edited by Caroline Woolley and with the cooperation of Lantra, we are able to offer this aid to training to those on bone fide training courses.

HAving now been on-line for over two years, the site has had a bit of a tidy up. WE will try to update some photos in the future but, thing is, we asaterted with the best and improvement is tricky! AS you know,All About Sheepdogs is a site designed to be responsive to our clients and to provide up to date information about what is happening in the sheepdog world. The site includes information about how to buy your dog, how to train it and what other resources there are available to support you. And by allowing the site to grow ‘organically’ we can, hopefully, build the site according to your needs. We have discovered that people spend time browsing all the sheepdog sites and hit upon ours when they need some training. But ther is more - one of the items introduced during 2009 has been the 'Newsletter' from the South West, this replaces what I hoped to introduce i.e. a monthly newsletter. THis proved to be too tall an order so News from the South West is the next best thing!...... more sheepdog news
Trainee Guide
It is planned to have for sale at our courses a Guide to Training your dog. This will be in the form of a hand out about the General Rules of dog handling and some basic commands. Followed by a booklet with a suggested training plan which will complement your training course.

Bedlam Farm
Jon Katz has written a series of books about his continuin Love Affair with Border Collies.
Devon was his first dog and became the subect of a world best seller 'The Year of the Dog'. Jon devoted many years to Devon -who,when he arrived chez Katz was as mad as a meataxe and had many 'issues'.
Jon's book was well received and it has spawned many others - mostly about Border collies and their relationships with Jon.
